Parents should not sign a Voluntary Declaration of Parentage if there is any doubt about who is the only possible genetic father. Either parent may request genetic testing before signing, but genetic testing may not be requested by the signer of the Declaration once it has been filed. The Parentage Opportunity Program does not manage the genetic testing process.
